In December 2018, L’Oréal launched BOLD (Business Opportunities for L'Oréal Development - https://www.lorealboldventures.com/), a corporate venture fund that invests across the entire beauty value chain through minority stakes in innovative, high-growth start-ups that support and accelerate L’Oréal’s strategic roadmap. Our investment thesis is structured around four verticals: Beauty brands, Beauty platforms, Tech for beauty and Science for beauty. In addition to financial support, BOLD offers startups access to L’Oréal’s beauty expertise, global network, and a dedicated mentoring system. By joining the BOLD team, you will help to scout and execute potential investment opportunities worldwide in Beauty/ Health / Wellness domains.

By joining the BOLD team, you will help to scout and execute potential investment opportunities worldwide in Beauty/ Health / Wellness domains.
Here’s how you will have a role to play in this team:
- Monitor the market and scout potential investment opportunities in Europe in Beauty/Wellness/Health domains
- Lead multidisciplinary due diligence teams to assess, negotiate and close investment deals
- Engage with internal stakeholders to identify synergies between potential investments and L’Oréal’s business units
- Contribute to the monitoring of the portfolio companies – both operational and financial performance - in coordination with the BOLD portfolio director and the CFO.
- Oversee reinvestment and exit processes
- Coordinate portfolio funds’ dealflows and onboard L’Oréal business leaders for additional business synergies
- Actively build an extended ecosystem of partner funds beyond our existing relationships
- Track market trends and contribute to clarifications of the investment thesis
- Animate L’Oréal’s internal advisors' network & share marketing trends and potential targets
- Participate in different events, pitches and conferences to connect with both startups and funds
- 10 years of experience in venture and/or M&A
- A strong interest in the beauty industry: from brands to biotech and hardware technologies
- Analytical skills and strong written and oral communication skills
- Significant experience in deal execution
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests, while ensuring the integrity, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data
- Ability to work independently and under time constraints
- Experience working successfully in both global multinational/corporate and startup environments
- Strong business acumen with the ability to challenge, influence and develop
- Demonstrated leadership and integrity
- Passion for innovation and business development
- Fluency in English
