Environmental Manager

We are in search of an Environmental Manager to join our innovative team as our new #bloqstar. In this role, you'll play a crucial role in leading the environmental aspects of Bloq.it’s Safety and Sustainability team.

This is a hybrid position, ideally based in Paris but open to one of the offices in Portugal (Lisbon or Porto).

What will be your responsibilities

• Track and manage group environment data (energy, emissions, waste, water, biodiversity) ;
• Helping global business verticals in developing Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and/or other requirements or environmental certifications ;
• Support in developing the environmental aspects of Bloq.it’s Sustainability Strategy then working with different stakeholders to ensure achievement of environmental goals ;
• Development and enforcement of environmental guidelines and practices for Bloq.it’s environmental management ;
• Ensuring compliance to ISO14001 and other international standards (GHG Protocol, CDP) while supporting global and local teams in building the required information ;
• Preparation for eventual Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) application and any other climate risk reporting ;
• Supporting the preparation of sustainability reporting ;
• Other ad hoc environmental tasks.

What are the requirements to join us in this position

• Fluent in English ;
• Bachelor’s degree at minimum in an appropriate field of study (science, law, engineering, public policy, communications etc.) ;
• 3+ years’ experience in roles managing sustainability compliance, social impact projects or other relevant governance activities ;
• Excellent interpersonal skills that establish trust and effective working relationships ;
• Strong ability to communicate with and influence stakeholders ;
• Highly proactive approach to problem solving and a delivery mindset, with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced working environment.

Extra valued skills

• Experience with reporting standards will be seen as an advantage ;
• Experience in a startup culture and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
