With longstanding expertise, the company is distinguished by its ability to carry out complex operations in highly regulated and technically demanding environments.

The company is now entering a new phase of ambitious growth, supported by a strong development potential and a strategic focus on high-value energy and environmental projects.

To strengthen its technical team, our client is creating a key position dedicated to the preparation and follow-up of complex operations, with a clear objective of operational excellence and multidisciplinary coordination. We are recruiting for a permanent position based at their agency in Pau (64): a Drilling Engineer – Planning & Operations M/F.

MISSIONS

Reporting to the Technical Department and working in direct interaction with the Operations Department, you will be involved in the preparation, coordination, and optimization of drilling (350-ton rigs) and workover (100-ton rigs) projects, for demanding clients in the geothermal sector, with operations mainly located in the Paris area.

In a context of internal structuring, the company is experiencing strong activity growth, with several major operations conducted simultaneously (deep geothermal drilling, workover, etc.). Your mission will be to secure project execution and support the company’s scale-up ambitions.

Your scope will include operation preparation, technical support to tenders, field follow-up, and structuring of post-project feedback.

Your main responsibilities will include:

-Develop preliminary schedules for drilling and workover operations, in close collaboration with the Operations Director.

-Technically prepare the execution of projects, structure the technical deliverables, consolidate client requirements, and organize operational milestones.

-Participate in the analysis of tenders: understand technical constraints, interact with partners, support proposal drafting.

-Identify outsourced services, contribute to the technical qualification of providers in connection with the Procurement team.

- Monitor operations in real time, analyze deviations, resolve technical issues, and report alerts to Management.

-Consolidate each project with a post-operation review, contribute to database updates, and support continuous improvement of methods and tools.

- Produce weekly technical reports, monitor performance KPIs, and present projects during internal or client meetings.

-Collaborate closely with other departments: HSE, Legal, HR, Procurement, Operations.

PROFILE

Graduated from an engineering school (such as Mines Paris or ENSG Nancy), you have between 5 and 10 years of experience in drilling engineering, acquired within a contractor or a lean structure, where you developed a global vision of execution, QHSE constraints, and client interactions. A strong knowledge of the oil & gas or geothermal sector is essential.

Experience in ISO environments and subcontractor management is a plus.

You must be comfortable managing several projects at once, in technically demanding environments. You already have experience in post-operation reviews and are able to prioritize in a changing organization.

You are proficient in professional English, office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and 2D design software (AutoCAD).

You are rigorous, proactive, and capable of coordinating multiple departments. Your ability to integrate within the team, to show initiative, and to become autonomous in planning and operational follow-up, while ensuring the quality of technical deliverables, will be a key factor for success in this role.

You enjoy working in agile environments, where structure is built alongside execution, and you bring an entrepreneurial mindset. You have strong interpersonal skills, know how to defend the company’s interests with clients and partners, and enjoy supporting junior profiles (you will coach an IFP engineering apprentice within the team).

This position is based at the company’s headquarters in Pau (64), with occasional travel to Paris or job sites (1 to 2 overnight stays, around twice a month).

The proposed salary starts from €70,000 gross per year, with performance-based bonuses, RTT, and occasional remote work.

The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
