About BYD France
BYD France is the French National Sales Company of BYD BV Europe and BYD Company Ltd, a China-based company and a leading global supplier of green energy technologies. BYD France offers a range of electric vehicles, including all-electric cars, buses & forklifts. BYD is expanding its operations in France to support a growing portfolio of New Electric Vehicle Passenger car and LCVs projects.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a variety of complex commercial contracts which may include distributor or dealer agreements, supply contracts, procurement agreements, and after-sales service agreements etc.
- Cooperate with the business team to prepare for the public procurement procedures.
- Provide legal advice to business managers to ensure that legal issues are identified and resolved and that legal risk is managed appropriately.
- Handle legal disputes, including coordination of litigation/arbitration procedures, and collaboration with external lawyers.
- Summarize potential risks of current business activities and provide training to the business team.
- Liaise and cooperate with the legal team in BYD HQ and European local countries.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations in the areas of commercial distribution and data & AI privacy, including drafting and reviewing specific contractual frameworks, conducting internal audits, and providing guidance to business teams on regulatory requirements (GDPR, AI Act, distribution law).
- Master of Law degree, with knowledge of European law
- Holder of the CRFPA (Certificate of Aptitude for the Legal Profession) or equivalent bar admission
- 3 to 5 years of professional legal experience, either as an in-house counsel or in private practice; experience in data privacy and/or in the automotive industry is a strong plus
- Experience in commercial contract and compliance matters
- Good commercial/transactional negotiation skills, particularly in cross-cultural and multi-jurisdictional transactions
- Able to develop and implement legal strategies and solutions
- Demonstrate excellent analytical skills, precise and able to multi-task effectively
- Proactive, diligent, team player and also be able to work independently
- Excellent command of English both verbally and in writing, knowledge of any other European languages or Chinese is a plus
