EDM Operator
Position Overview
The EDM Operator supports the tooling group in a fast-paced manufacturing business. The successful candidate must be a self-starter having a sense of ownership of their projects, and highly organized with a willingness to grow within the EDM group.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrode Design: Design precision electrodes from project data using Visi Tooling CAD software
- NC Programming: Program electrodes efficiently utilizing Visi CAM software
- Preparation & Setup: Cut electrode blanks and accurately mount them into Erowa holders
- Electrode Machining: Operate and machine electrodes using Makino CNC electrode cutting machines
- EDM Operation: Load, locate, and burn components using three Makino sinker EDM machines
- Automation (Preferred): Utilize knowledge of Erowa electrode feeding robots to optimize workflows
- ERP Tracking: Complete daily production tracking and data entry within the Epicor ERP system
Qualifications & Requirements
- EDM Experience: Proven background working directly as an EDM Operator
- Manufacturing Background: Experience in production and/or prototype injection molding
- Industry Sector: Experience in the automotive manufacturing sector is strongly preferred
- Core Competencies: Strong organizational skills with high attention to technical detail
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Software: Hands-on experience with Visi CAD/CAM software
- Equipment: Direct experience operating Makino sinker EDM and CNC electrode cutting machinery
- ERP Systems: Prior exposure to Epicor ERP or similar manufacturing execution software
