Job Description:
Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Supplier Development Manager (f/m) to join our Supplier Development Department based in Toulouse, France. This team is responsible for shaping the future of Space Systems supply-base!
As a Supplier Development Manager, you will responsible for :
1/ improving and developing supplier performance by providing expert support at supplier site – covering end-to-end processes, using continuous improvement methodologies,
2/ developing the Supply Chain to the appropriate maturity level in order to support Suppliers to ensure OQOTOC performance.
This position has a high visibility in Space Procurement and in the functions it is interfacing with (Projects, Manufacturing, Suppliers).

Your challenges:
- Identify the supplier weaknesses, capabilities, capacities, areas of improvement and development to improve supply chain maturity and robustness,
- Prepare mission statement, establish and agree with supply chain stakeholders relevant objectives, targets and CID (Corrective, Improvement and Development ) action plan,
- Perform industrial maturity or capacity assessments,
- Drive the implementation of supply chain continuous improvement methodologies (LEAN, 6 sigma, Problem solving, knowledge sharing, ...), and tools (indicators, process controls, test means,...) at supplier's site,
- Manage with the supplier and report regularly on actions plan, development plan achievements,
- Support the Supply chain operation team for recovery plan on critical issues to ensure supplier's performance targets are achieved, Contribute to anticipate recurring supplier quality issues and initiate preventive measures
Your profile:
- A least 5 years of experience in activities which have allowed you to acquire sound skills and knowledge of Procurement, Engineering, Quality or Manufacturing,
- Experiences in assessment or audits,
- APQP standards such as Statistic Process control, control plan and PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and effect analysis), capability studies, Measurement System analysis,
- Basics APICS, Production and Inventory management,
- 6-sigma and process improvement methodology, 8D (9S, PPS,...) and DMAIC, Black Belt or Shaining accreditation will be strongly appreciated,
- Statistical Data analysis (comparative methods, hypothesis testing, Design Of Experiment),
- Strong communication skills including active listening and empathy,
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to persuade, influence and convince,
- Procurement IT tool knowledge would be a benefit,
- Excellent skills in relationship building, team building, empowering, motivating others and conflict management,
- Negotiation level English, any other languages being a plus.
