We want you to be a part of our team, in Strasbourg (hybrid), as Senior Biometrics Specialist.
WHAT WILL YOU DO IN YOUR DAY-TO-DAY?
- Provide subject-matter expertise on biometric matching operations, workflows and operational processes.
- Act as a biometric and technical AFIS expert in the development and evolution of biometric solutions.
- Evaluate biometric workflows, efficiency, performance and quality-control processes.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend enhancements to biometric methodologies and operational procedures.
- Contribute to technical proposals, reports, specifications and supporting documentation.
- Support the definition of biometric performance requirements across different business domains.
- Analyse biometric accuracy and performance results and propose corrective actions where necessary.
- Analyse operational and technical logs and prepare reports with findings and recommendations.
- Follow developments in biometric technologies, algorithms, standards and systems.
- Participate in biometric working groups and technical meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?
- Minimum 4 years of relevant higher education after secondary school, corresponding to a Master's degree or equivalent in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Biometrics or another relevant technical discipline.
- Minimum 9 years of professional experience in IT.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with 3M Cogent, Morpho/IDEMIA or equivalent AFIS technology in large-scale IT environments.
- At least 3 years of experience in biometric workflows and/or technical operations involving AFIS or biometric systems supporting border control.
- Experience working in complex, security-sensitive or mission-critical IT environments.
- Strong knowledge of AFIS and biometric matching systems, including 1:1 verification and 1:N identification.
- Strong knowledge of fingerprint and palm-print processing and facial image processing.
- Strong understanding of biometric data quality, accuracy, matching thresholds and performance indicators.
- Experience analysing technical and operational biometric system logs.
- Knowledge of international biometric standards and biometric interoperability.
- Understanding of data protection and security constraints applicable to biometric information.
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC biometric standards, ANSI/NIST and ICAO biometric requirements is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to work effectively with technical teams, operational stakeholders, external suppliers and international organisations.
- Ability to translate complex biometric performance issues into clear technical recommendations.
