What you will do
- Develop and maintain internal scripts to automate the collection of data from public records, regulatory filings, and commercial databases.
- Build workflows that clean and categorize raw information to ensure our senior research team can act on high-quality data.
- Create and manage internal dashboards that track the activities and public signals of counterparties and competitors in the market.
- Collaborate directly with senior advisors to understand specific research bottlenecks and propose technical ways to speed up the information gathering process.
- Write clear, simple documentation for all automation tools so that non-technical team members can use them effectively.
- Audit existing data handling processes to identify errors or repetitive tasks that could be handled more efficiently through automation.
- Support the preparation of client materials by automating the generation of tables, charts, and data visualizations based on fresh market intelligence.
- Monitor all automated systems daily to ensure data integrity remains high during active negotiations and high-stakes engagements.
- A basic proficiency in a scripting language such as Python or JavaScript, specifically for the purpose of data handling and manipulation.
- A strong interest in how technology and data collection support commercial decision-making and high-level investment strategy.
- The ability to explain technical logic and system limitations in plain English to partners who prioritize commercial outcomes over technical complexity.
- High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to testing your own scripts to ensure data accuracy before it is used in client reports.
- Commercial curiosity regarding how different market participants, including sovereign entities and private family groups, behave in the territory.
- Strong organizational skills to manage your own schedule and multiple small projects while working in a fully remote environment.
- A preference for functional, straightforward tools rather than over-engineered software solutions that are difficult to maintain.
- Willingness to learn new platforms or data sources quickly as the needs of a specific client engagement change.
