Senior Product Manager

pony

As Senior Product Manager, you'll reshape the tools that run pony's operations, from the apps our mechanics use in the field to Groom, our company-wide platform, and put AI at their core.

pony operates 15,000 e-bikes and scooters across 24 European cities. We design, manufacture and maintain our own vehicles, and build our own software: our internal tools are a core part of our operating model, not off-the-shelf solutions.

Our field teams use these apps in workshops and on the street, often with poor network coverage. Groom is used by around 50 people across Marketing, Support, Hardware, Ops and Product to manage subscriptions, customer requests, fleet activity and product configuration. Around 9,000 vehicles go through our workshops every month, and fleet availability is our main revenue driver: every minute saved helps keep more vehicles on the street.

You'll join our Product team in Bordeaux and work closely with Arthur, our Head of Product. This is a new role with full ownership of our internal ops tools, and three major challenges:

  • Rethink Groom from the ground up, AI-first. Simplify a platform that has grown feature by feature, without a clear product vision.

  • Define the future of our ops apps. Today they help our teams execute their work: define what they should bring them beyond that, and defend that vision.

  • Build an AI-powered product engine. Rethink how we build software, with the ambition of shipping in one week what used to take two months, starting with an agent that triages problems reported by field and office teams.

Main responsibilities

Own internal tools end to end, from field discovery to release: identify the real problem before converging on a solution, spend time in our workshops, on field rounds and with the teams who use Groom, write specifications, work with Tech through delivery and measure the impact of every release.

Prioritise needs and own your roadmap: assess the opportunity cost of every project and decide rigorously what deserves development time and what can be solved another way, across Groom and the ops apps, and defend those choices.

Build AI-powered product workflows: automate how we build product, from gathering needs to specifications ready for a sprint. Build the agents that support impact analysis, test generation and prioritisation, and keep them accurate as our tools evolve.

Set the framework for internal tools: define the rules business teams follow when building their own tools: what they can build independently, where those tools live, who can access which data and when Tech needs to step in.

Bring the best of outside in: track how other companies build internal tools and AI agents, test the most promising approaches on our own use cases, and keep what works.

  • Educational background: a Master's degree from a top business school or engineering school.

  • Experience: 5 to 8 years in product, at senior level, ideally as a first PM in a startup or SaaS company, or in product ops.

  • AI skills: you have already designed and built automations or concrete tools with AI (LLM agents, n8n, Make, scripts…) and can walk us through what you shipped.

  • Ownership & impact: you care about building the right thing, and building it right. You take full responsibility for your work and its impact on users and the product.

  • Interest in operations: you're motivated by operational challenges and curious about how things work on the ground.

  • Data-driven: you base your decisions on data, you analyse what matters, spot trends and turn them into clear recommendations.

  • People skills: you communicate clearly and work well with cross-functional teams, from field staff to management.

  • Problem-solving mindset: you approach problems with pragmatism, balancing quick wins with long-term solutions that scale.

  • HR Screening with Laura N.: a 30-minute video call to ensure alignment of expectations.

  • Culture Fit: a short written exercise (10 minutes) to confirm value alignment.

  • Case Study & Manager Interview with Arthur, Head of Product: a case sent in advance, combining a product discovery exercise and an AI build, presented live (about 2 hours), followed by an interview to discuss the role in more detail.

  • Reference checks.

  • Founders meeting: A final conversation with the founders to dive into vision, motivations, and team fit
